All Sky customers can avail the free Sky email service with 10 GB of storage space, more than enough for tens of thousands of text messages. This email account can be accessed in two ways. You can either use the Sky email login via a web browser (webmail interface) or download and store messages on your computer with dedicated email program like Outlook Express.
Each method has its own merits and your choice depends how you would like to access and maintain the Sky email account. For instance, if you plan on accessing the account from multiple devices (computers, mobile phones, tablets), I suggest using an email program and employing IMAP.

Sky email login via webmail
A webmail email account is generally used through a web browser, software which is pre-installed on practically all computers. This means you can login to Sky email account from any computer as long as it has an active internet connection.
To get to the Sky email login open the sign in page in your chosen web browser – click that link. Provide your username and password in the login fields. Using the “Remember my username” feature saves a little time when you access email the next time from the Sky login page. Hit the “Sign In” button to get to the email account.

Download Sky email to your computer
Messages from a Sky email account can also be downloaded to your computer with the help of an email client. All Windows computers have a default email program – Outlook Expresson XP, Windows Mail on Vista and Windows Live Mail on Windows 7. By the way, you don’t need to restrict yourself to only Microsoft products as there are many email programs available.
When using an email program you do not have to go through the Sky email login process manually because that’s the software’s job. However, you do need to set up the Sky email account on the email client (only once) which is quite simple. Please keep the username, password and Sky incoming and outgoing servers details ready and refer one of the links below to configure your email account in the chosen email program.
- Set up a new email account in Outlook Express
- Add and configure an email account in Windows Mail Vista
- Setup Windows Live Mail on Windows 7
FYI, the ability to store messages on your computer and have them accessible anytime, even without an internet connection, is one of the biggest advantages of Outlook Express or other email programs.
At the time of writing, a Sky email account holder can create a maximum of ten individual email accounts. Thus, each member of your family can create their own email address.
Furthermore, as long as you continue using the email accounts, Sky will keep them active even when you cancel subscriptions to Sky Broadband or Sky TV. Finally, you can also use your mobile for accessing Sky email login and the phone can be made to vibrate when new messages arrive – no need to check the account manually!
Totally impossible to get into my emails forgot password!
@John Russell,
You may like to contact Sky staff or follow the password reset steps.
Sky email giving a lot of login problems lately.
I’m thinking of giving up my Sky email account and using Yahoo on a regular basis. Will this be a good decision?
@Martin Quinn
Yes. There are many disadvantages in continuing to use an I.S.P. based email for a long time; not that free email services are without problems. Anyway, whether you choose Yahoo!, Gmail, Hotmail or AOL, ensure that you set the account up in an email client which will keep a copy of the messages on your local system.
Is it possible to get Sky email to remember more than one sign-on name? If I click the ‘Remember sign-on’ box and later use another of my email address’s, It forgets about the first. (VERY short-term memory !). What I would most want is for it to remember my 5 email addresses, So that I can click on the name wanted from a drop-down list.
@Jonathan Brophy
I know what you mean. Which browser are you using? Is it Internet Explorer?
I have a Sky e-mail address. Can you write an e-mail in colour?
@Janet Graves
Yes you can use rich text to format your message anyway you want. The option would be in the Sky webmail, else you can use an email program like Outlook or Windows Live Mail.
