I have been with SBCGlobal and decided to get a Yahoo.com address. There is a box that points to the Yahoo symbol at the top left portion of the page THAT WILL SIMPLY NOT GO AWAY. It says, “Do you use the Yahoo! Toolbar on multiple computers”. I have rebooted and every time I log in to my new email this box appears and I am unable to close it. Please HELP!
Maureen
Congratulations on creating a Yahoo ID which I consider the best email service in the world. It’s sad to know that you are facing this problem but take heart, the Do you use the Yahoo! Toolbar on multiple computers pop up box can be removed for good in less than a minute.

Get rid of the annoying “Do you use the Yahoo! Toolbar on multiple computers” box
I’m not 100% sure, but this appears to be a Firefox problem. Anyway, if you are using another web browser, simply follow the steps below.
- Login at your Yahoo account.
- Click the ‘gears’ (Settings) icon and choose “Toolbar Preferences“.
- Look for “Enable feature tips” option on the page and remove the check mark in front of it. You’ve now disabled this feature.
- Save the changes you’ve made by clicking “I’m Done“.
- Restart the web browser. The “Do you use the Yahoo! Toolbar on multiple computers” should now be removed for good.
Again, this problem probably occurs only in the Firefox web browser and not Internet Explorer because I was able to remove the pop-up box by clicking on X (top right).
Sometimes I feel it is better to just use Gmail instead of Yahoo! What do you think?
@Hannah
It all depends on how comfortable YOU feel with the interface. Yahoo is pretty good and so is Gmail but the latter might seem overpowering at times – just my opinion.
I used to login automatically and now I was shown a blank field for the password. I don’t remember it at all. This is going to be very tricky.
