Step 4 – Uploading Files
To start uploading files, click on the “Upload” icon Upload icon in FTP Explorer. A pop-up window opens displaying the files on your computer. You can navigate to the file you want to upload and click on the OK button to start the transfer process.

To upload multiple files, use the SHIFT key or the CONTROL key.
Files can be of two types – Binary and ASCII. FTP Explorer will automatically determine the type of file in use and use the appropriate transfer type.

Step 5 – Managing files on the server
To delete, rename or download files from the server, right-click on the file name in the right window and select the action from the pop-up menu.

Downloading files
Another way to download file is to click on the download icon Download icon in FTP Explorer and follow the instructions.

Changing Transfer Type
You can set the transfer type explicitly by clicking on the appropriate icon.

Note: When transferring CGI Perl files, it’s better to set the transfer type to ASCII.

Closing the connection
Once your work is over, you should close the FTP connection by clicking on Close Connection icon.

Directory refresh and Listing
The FTP Explorer Refresh Icon icon refreshes the contents of the directory while FTP Explorer Directory listing icons icons let you change the listing type for the directory.

Chmoding
CGI Perl files have to be made executable on a Linux server. To change the mode (chmod), I telnet to the account and execute the command chmod 755.
