I am not able to successfully send emails to my son’s Hotmail email address from my embarqmail email address. I have been sending emails for years but recently he has not received my emails. I do not receive an error message nor do the emails I send come back……I don’t know where they are going. I have contacted Emabarqmail and they tell me the emails are going to the Hotmail address. I can receive emails from my son’s Hotmail address…..but he does not receive my emails. And, all my other emails are being delivered. Could you please advise as to what I need to do.
This is indeed a weird issue. The problem appears to be with one specific Hotmail account which is not receiving email. It would be impossible to provide a clear-cut solution and I can only offer general troubleshooting tips.
Let us start by looking at the Hotmail side of things since the Embarqmail account has no problem in sending emails to other accounts. And because neither an error message is displayed nor the email is returned, we’ll first go through the obvious:
To ascertain whether the problem of not receiving email is with that one Hotmail account or with the entire service, I would send a message to another Hotmail account – heck, I would create a new Hotmail account just to check this out!
If things are fine on the troublesome Hotmail account, I would suggest speaking to Embarqmail support with the new information. And if this too doesn’t lead anywhere the last resort is to get a free email account from Gmail, Yahoo or Hotmail and slowly ditch Embarqmail.
Lastly, please understand that Hotmail is one of the best email services in the world. It is unlikely that only you would be suffering with a Hotmail problem. Chances are that there would be hundreds, if not thousands, of users who would be affected and the company would be aware of the issues are working hard to correct them.
