Harold Urey died on 5 January, 1981

American physical chemist and winner of the 1934 Nobel Prize in chemistry for the discovery of deuterium. He also made important contributions to the development of the atom bomb. However, Urey is best remembered for the "origin of life" experiments he conducted with his student Stanley Miller.
