CD (Compact Disc) released in the US

Compact Disc and their players were released in the United States on 2^nd March 1983. CD had been released a year back on 17^th August 1982 in Germany – the first commercial CD being the recording of Chopin waltzes by artist Claudio Arrau. FYI, the world’s first CD players were been launched by Sony.
