How to copy (save as) an email message without the attachment? Or, how to remove attachments?

The solution to Josh’s problem is quite simple actually – at least, that’s the way I do it. FYI, the instructions below are for the Windows Live Mail email client but they will work with Windows Mail Vista, Outlook Express or (probably) any other email client too. So how can you remove the attachment and save the email?
Messages you save in the .eml format using the “File” -> “Save As” function will have not only the text contents but also the file sent as email attachment. To remove this attachment, I suggest you first forward the message to an alternate email address of your, deleting these extra files before you actually send the message. Once you get the email back, it will come with the attachments removed! In fact, you can make additional edits to the textual contents if you so want. You can now save the message in .eml format just as you had done before.
