The Line Mode Browser was released on 14th May 1991. It was developed primarily by Robert Calliau and Nicola Pellow, an intern at CERN working with Sir Tim Berners-Lee, the inventor of the World Wide Web. Line Mode Browser was the second web browser could run on different platforms. The world’s first web browser, WorldWideWeb (now called Nexus), ran only on NeXT computers.
