Swiss computer scientist and inventor best known for developing the modern computer mouse. The two button, single ball mouse with an optical encoder was a major improvement over the one designed by Douglas Engelbart.
Nicoud has also developed the Smaky computer at his laboratory, LAMI (LAboratoire de Micro-Informatique) and later went on to start a private company, DIDEL, that manufactures ultralight miniature aircraft.
