Douglas Engelbart was born on 30 January, 1925

Computer pioneer and inventor best known for inventing the computer mouse which he demonstrated on 27th April 1968. Unfortunately, he didn’t receive any royalties for this ground-breaking invention!

Engelbart also played a huge role in the development of hypertext and precursors of GUIs. On 9th December 1968, in San Francisco, he gave what is fondly known as the Mother of All Demos. It featured several popular technologies which we use today including GUI, word processing, video conferencing and more.
