Heinrich Wilhelm Matthias Olbers died on 2 March, 1840

German physician and astronomer best known for discovering the second asteroid 2 Pallas on 28th March 1802. He also discovered Vesta asteroid, which he allowed Carl Friedrich Gauss to name.
