The first sound transmission by Alexander Graham Bell took place on 2nd June 1875. This was not the “Mr. Watson-Come here-I want to see you” (the first phone call) but the sound of a single reed that Thomas Watson had accidentally plucked which Bell heard at the receiver’s end.
