Alexander Graham Bell was born on 3 March, 1847

Scottish scientist who patented the first practical telephone. Both Elisha Gray and he had filed for patenting the telephone on the same day, 14th February 1876. However, it was awarded to Alexander Graham Bell on 7th March 1876.

On 10th March 1876, the world’s first phone call was made by Alexander Graham Bell to his assistant Thomas Watson with the immortal words, “Mr. Watson, come here! I want to see you!”.
Graham Bell also went to set up the first commercial telephone service.

FYI, in 2002, Antonio Meucci was recognised as the inventor of the telephone by the US Congress.
