American electrical engineer and founder of Western Electric Manufacturing Company who developed a prototype of the telephone in 1876. Gray is considered the founder of the modern synthesiser and had over 70 patents including one for the telephone. In fact, both Gray and Graham Bell had applied for the patent on the very same day. The patent was awarded to Alexander Graham Bell.
The Commodore PET (Personal Electronic Transactor) was the first personal computer to be available off the shelf on retail stores. Another product from the company, the Commodore 64, is regarded as the largest selling computer of all time. Commodore International was founded by Jack Tramiel, a Polish-American businessman.
