The first patent for an integrated circuit was filed by Jack Kilby on 6th February 1959. The concept of the IC was first published by Englishman Geoffrey Dummer in 1952. A few years later, Kilby, who was working at Texas Instruments at that time had demonstrated the first integrated circuit.
