First airplane casualty - Lieutenant Thomas Selfridge.

On 17th September 1908, Lieutenant Thomas Selfridge became the first airplane causality. He was a passenger on the Wright Flyer which was being flown by Orville Wright. The craft crashed, killing Lieutenant Selfridge.
