A paper titled Molecular Structure of Nucleic Acids: A Structure for Deoxyribose Nucleic Acid was published in Nature on 25th April 1953. It was authored by James Watson and Francis Crick and described the double helix structure of DNA based on X-ray crystallography studies conducted on the macromolecule.
April 25 is honoured as DNA day.
