Scientists observe basic principles of transistor

John Bardeen and Walter Houser Brattain observed the basic principles of the transistor on 17^th November 1947. The junction transistor was announced by William Shockley on 4^th July 1951. All three received the 1956 Nobel Prize in Physics for the invention which paved the way for the electronics revolution of the 20th century.
