Robert Kearns Birthday

American inventor known for inventing and patenting the intermittent windshield wiper system used on most, if not all, commercial automobiles of today. Unfortunately, though he had approached automakers with his invention, he was rejected and the companies installed their own versions his invention. He spent most of the latter part of his life fighting lawsuits with the "Big Three" automakers. His story formed the basis of the Hollywood movie Flash of Genius.
