Robert Fulton died on 24 February, 1815

American inventor and engineer best known for inventing the steamboat and one of the world’s earliest torpedoes. He started the first commercial steamboat service from New York to Albany on the Hudson river. Fulton was commissioned by Napoleon Bonaparte to design the first practical submarine in history, the Nautilus.
