The Magellan space probe reached planet Venus on 10th August 1990. The robotic space probe, also known as Venus Radar Mapper, was launched by NASA on 4th May 1989.
Coincidentally, today was also the day when Ferdinand Magellan started on his voyage to circumnavigate the globe.
