Léon Theremin died on 3 November, 1993

Soviet inventor, born Lev Sergeyevich Termen, famous for inventing and designing the world’s first electronic musical instrument, the Theremin. He is also credited to have devised the interlace technique still used today in video and television technology. Additionally, Theremin helped his government in snooping on the conversations at the United States Ambassador’s Moscow office through a nifty invention known as The Thing which hung in plain sight and is considered a predecessor of RFID technology.
