Jean-François Pilâtre de Rozier died on 15 June, 1785

French teacher of chemistry and physics who became the first human to ascend on a hot air balloon. Rozier piloted the Montgolfier balloon on 15th October 1783. It was a tethered flight. He, and the Marquis d’Arlandes, were also the first to make the first manned free flight on the balloon on 21th November 1783.
