Henry Faulds Birthday

Scottish physician and missionary who developed the idea of fingerprint identification and was the first scientist to publish a paper on the subject (in the journal Nature in 1880). The use of fingerprints for forensic work has been a matter of contention with Francis Galton and Sir William Herschel laying claim to the same.
