Gottfried Wilhelm Leibniz died on 14 November, 1716

German mathematician, philosopher and polymath. Leibniz is credited to have invented calculus independently of Isaac Newton. He is also known for his contributions to the field of mechanical calculators. However, Leibniz is most famous for having refined the binary system which forms the foundation of the modern digital technology. He is now recognised as the father of Calculus.
