First World Sudoku Championship held

The first “World Sudoku Championship” was held in Lucca, Italy on 12^th March 2006. Jana Tylova of the Czech Republic won the event.

FYI, the first modern Sudoku puzzle was published on 12^th November 2004 in The Times, UK.
