Ferdinand Magellan starts journey to circumnavigate the globe

Ferdinand Magellan set sail on his journey to circumnavigate the globe on 10^th August 1519. He had five ships in his armada. Unfortunately, and as often mistaken believed, Magellan was not the first person to go around the world. He was killed in battle in the Philippines on 27^th April 1521.
