Alexander Fleming Birthday

Scottish biologist famous for discovering the antibiotic Penicillin from the mould Penicillium notatum growing in one of the petri-dishes in his lab. He shared the 1945 Nobel Prize in Physiology or Medicine with Howard Florey and Ernst Boris Chain. Fleming also discovered the important enzyme, lysozyme.
