Yahoo! launched a free email service on 8th October 1997. They had acquired RocketMail and its parent company Four 11 for $92 million. RocketMail, along with Hotmail, was one of the first free web-based email services in the world.
The Commodore PET (Personal Electronic Transactor) was the first personal computer to be available off the shelf on retail stores. Another product from the company, the Commodore 64, is regarded as the largest selling computer of all time. Commodore International was founded by Jack Tramiel, a Polish-American businessman.
