Astronomers discovered a trans-Neptunian object (TNO) which they named 90377 Sedna, on 14th November 2003.

The team of astronomers comprising of Michael E. Brown, Chad Trujillo, and David L. Rabinowitz, later discovered the dwarf planet Eris in 2005 from the Palomar Observatory.
