English computer scientist who invented the World Wide Web while working at CERN, a high-energy physics organisation in France/Switzerland. He put up the world’s first web page on 8th August 1991, created the world’s first web browser and the first web server. Berners-Lee was knighted by Queen Elizabeth in 2004 and was conferred the title of the "Inventor of the World Wide Web" during the opening ceremony of 2012 Summer Olympics in London.
