Theodore Maiman received patent for laser

14 November, 1967

Theodore Maiman received the patent for his ruby laser, the world’s first working laser, on 14th November 1967. The American physicist and engineer who was employed by the Hughes Aircraft Company had fired the laser successfully for the first time on 16th May 1960 and announced it a few days later.
