German physician and astronomer Heinrich Wilhelm Matthäus Olbers, discovered the second asteroid 2 Pallas on 28th March 1802. The very first asteroid to be discovered was Ceres by Giuseppe Piazzi on 1st January 1801.
A few years later, Olbers would also discover asteroid Vesta in 1807.

In February 2011, Executive Jet Management, which flies small chartered jets, became the first airlines to replace the bulky hardcopy flight manuals with digital documents on the iPad. The shifted was implemented only after it was approved by the Federal Aviation Administration.
