Scottish scientists announced the cloning of an adult sheep, Dolly, on 22nd February 1997. Cloned by Sir Ian Wilmut and his team at the Roslin Institute, Roslin, Midlothian, the project was funded by PPL Therapeutics, a biotechnology company.
