Home / iPhone / How do I set up Roadrunner email on the iPhone?
Roadrunner email is POP enabled, which means you can access it from any device which supports this email protocol. The Post Office Protocol is commonly used by email programs to connect to the server and download messages to the device, whether it’s a computer or a mobile phone.
Your Roadrunner email can be set up on the iPhone through the default Mail application. Thus, emails can be checked from any location… as long as an internet connection is available. Also, once downloaded to your mobile phone, the messages are accessible even when you switch to the ‘Airplane’ mode.
The instructions are exactly the same as setting up any email account on the iPhone. Keep your login ID, account password and the incoming and outgoing email servers details ready.
That’s it! You have successfully set up Roadrunner email on the iPhone. The account is accessible wherever you go as long as there is an active internet connection.
Just to be clear: isn’t it true that this will allow you to receive your RoadRunner email, but doesn’t necessarily allow you send mail using your RoadRunner account?
From what I’ve read, you’ll only be able to send email if you’re connected via Wi-Fi to the TimeWarner network, since they protect their SMTP servers from access outside of their network.
Is that correct?
Hmmm. You probably would need to put the outgoing email server of the service you’re currently using – how to use Roadrunner email from another computer.
Doesn’t work. The tech note is generic and doesn’t work for RR accounts. You can receive on the iPhone, but can’t snd and there’s no combination of settings on the iPhone native email client that wil get you there. RR tech support just says “Call Apple”. That blows.
Setup a second STMP server as mobile-smtp.roadrunner.com.
Then when you are not on the RR network, it will try this 2nd SMTP server.
I set up the outgoing server as cwmx.com and it worked for me
What are the settings to only receive RoadRunner email on my iPhone. I keep getting a message (after inputting all of the settings and hitting next) that I have SSL turned on and do I want to turn it off. If I say yes, it just cycles for a couple of minutes and gives me the same message. I just want to be able to receive. I don’t care about sending. Help.
