Isaac Newton’s Philosophiæ Naturalis Principia Mathematica was published on 5th July 1687. It is a three-book work in Latin which states the laws of motion, law of universal gravitation, a derivation of Kepler’s laws of planetary motion and lays the foundation of classical mechanics. The Philosophiæ Naturalis Principia Mathematica is regarded as one of the most important works in the history of science.
