The popular Peanuts comic strip came to an end on 3rd January 2000. Created by Charles Schulz the strip debuted 2nd October 1950 with Charlie Brown. Schulz gradually introduced other characters who have all become part of popular culture – Snoopy dog, Sally Brown, Linus van Pelt, Peppermint Patty and Franklin.
