On 7th December 1999, Napster, Inc. was sued by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) who alleged copyright infringement. Because of the lawsuit, the peer-to-peer had a surge in popularity for a little while, but was soon shut down soon after. Napster was developed by Shawn Fanning, John Fanning and Sean Parker.
In one of the largest domain name sales, business.com was sold by Marc Ostrofsky for $7.5 Million. Ostrofsky had originally purchased the domain name for $150K. After a few years (2007), the web site as well as the domain name was bought by RH Donnelley for $350 Million!
