Marcello Malpighi died on 29 November, 1694

Italian physician and biologist regarded as the "Father of microscopical anatomy, histology, physiology and embryology". Several anatomical and physiological features are named after him. Malpighi was the first to view capillaries in animals, discover a link between arteries and veins, and view red blood corpuscles (RBC) under the microscope.
