Kepler discovers the third law of planetary motion

German mathematician Johannes Kepler discovered the third law of planetary motion on 8^th March 1618. Known as the harmonic law, it states that the square of the periodic times are proportional to the cubes of the mean distances from the sun. Kepler confirmed the law on 15^th May 1618.
