Karl Ferdinand Braun died on 20 April, 1918

German inventor, physicist and winner of the 1909 Nobel Prize in Physics (which he shared with Guglielmo Marconi). Braun is known for his significant contributions to the development of radio and television. Braun invented the phased array antenna which lead to the development of radar, smart antennas and MIMO. He had also built the first cathode-ray tube (CRT) and the cathode ray tube oscilloscope.
