John William Strutt 3rd Baron Rayleigh died on 30 June, 1919

English physicist and Nobel laureate famous for discovering argon, a nobel gas along with William Ramsay. He is also known for the phenomenon of Rayleigh scattering by which one can explain why the sky is blue and for predicting Rayleigh waves (surface waves).
