James H. Pomerene died on 7 December, 2008

American electrical engineer and computer pioneer known for computer design. He played an important role in the development of IAS machine which was a prototype for several other machines such as the MANIAC I, ORACLE etc. At IBM, Pomerene contributed to the designs of IBM 7030 and Harvest computers.
