Instant replay used for the first time.

7 December, 1963

On 7th December 1963, instant replay was used for the very first time by CBS Sports for the Army-Navy football game (between the teams of the United States Military Academy at West Point, New York and the United States Naval Academy at Annapolis, Maryland). The idea for “instant replay”, which changed sports broadcasting, was introduced by producer Tony Verna.
