20 January, 1929

On 20th January 1929, In Old Arizona the world’s first full-length talkie that had been filmed outdoors was released to the public. It had premiered on 25th December 1928.

In Old Arizona has an important place in film making especially in Hollywood because not only was it the first talkie to be filmed outdoors but it also introduced the character of the singing cowboy which, in a way, was based on the Cisco Kid character in O. Henry’s The Caballero’s Way.
