Herman Hollerith issued patent for his punched card calculator

US patent no. 395,791 was issued to Herman Hollerith on 8^th January 1889. It was for his punched card calculator – “Art of Applying Statistics”. Hollerith’s pioneering work on semiautomatic data processing was an important milestone in technology. The company set up by the inventor, Computing-Tabulating-Recording Company, was later merged with three others to form IBM.
