On 14th October 1884, American inventor George Eastman received two patents (U.S. Patent 306,470 and U.S. Patent 306,594) for photographic film; he had filed for them on 10th May 1884 and 7th March 1884, respectively. Eastman went on to found Kodak and registered that trademark as well as a patent for his camera on 4th September 1888.
