The first Wal-Mart store opened on 2nd July 1962 in Rogers, Arkansas. The company was founded by Sam Walton and incorporated on 31st October 1969.
As per the 2014 Fortune Global 500 list, Wal-Mart is the world’s largest company by revenue. The family-owned business is also the world’s biggest private employer with code to 2.2 million employee.
