First IBM PC computer virus released.

19 January, 1986

Brain, the first IBM PC computer virus, was released on 19th January 1986. It was created in Lahore, Pakistan by Farooq Alvi Brothers who had originally made it to protect their software from being copied. Brain was a boot sector virus.
