The Dow Jones closed above the 10,000 mark for the very first time on 29th March 1999. It was during the height of the dot-com bubble. The first edition of the Dow Jones Industrial Average had been published on 26th May 1896.
Dow Jones had been founded by Charles Dow, Edward Jones and Charles Bergstresser.
